Design of Broadband Dual-Polarization Antenna for 2/3/4G and 5G Base Station Applications
A novel ±45° dual-polarized broadband base station antenna for 2/3/4G and 5G applications is presented in this paper. The antenna is composed of a radiator, a parasitic structure, and a metal reflector. Four pairs of dipoles are printed on the upper and bottom layers of the radiator's substrate. The parasitic structure, located above the radiator, can enhance the bandwidth and increase gain in the high frequency range. The antenna is fed through two coaxial cables and two copper pillars. When the return loss is less than -15dB, the relative impedance bandwidth is 73.5% (1.71GHz-3.7 GHz). The antenna gain is 8.3dBi to 10.2dBi and the port isolation greater than 28dB. The antenna offers wide bandwidth, high gain, and excellent port isolation, making it well-suited for base station applications.
