A High Temperature Sensor Based on Silicon Core Optical Fiber Fabry-Perot Cavity
The accurate measurement of temperature at high temperatures has been a challenge for temperature sensors. For solving this problem, a high temperature sensor based on silicon core optical fiber Fabry-Perot cavity is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Due to the large thermo-optic coefficient and thermal expansion coefficient of silicon core, it improves the sensitivity of the high temperature sensor. The experimental results show that the sensor is able to operate stably over a temperature range of 100°C to 900°C with a high sensitivity of 113.9 pm/°C. The sensor is simple and low-cost to fabricate. It has potential applications in the aerospace field and metallurgical industry.
