Abstract

A four-channel silicon photonic MDM-WDM transmitter chiplet is demonstrated with <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{4}\times \mathbf{56}-\mathbf{Gbps}$</tex> signaling, based on high-speed MRMs and an equalized dual-mode grating coupler over <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{1.65}\ \mathbf{mm}^{\mathbf{2}}$</tex> footprint, indicating significant potential for high-density optical interconnects.
