Design and Research of A Low-harmonic Marine Frequency Converter
The marine frequency converter uses the pulse width modulation, and the power supply side produces the harmonic wave, which causes the electrical network waveform distortion, and leads to the electrical energy quality question, even interferes with other equipment the work. In this paper, a low harmonic marine frequency converter is proposed. We replace the uncontrolled rectifier circuit by a three-phase Vienna rectifier circuit, which can effectively and actively suppress the harmonics on the power supply side. So that the total voltage distortion rate can be lower than 2%. Meanwhile, it can reduce the size of the input filter and improve the power density of the frequency converter. A 4kVA frequency converter is developed, and the experimental results verify the feasibility of the technology.
