Simplified Formula for Estimating Power Limitation of Transverse Modal Instability with Consideration of Radiation Effect

Formula for estimating the limitation of transverse mode instability (TMI) on the power of Yb-doped fiber amplifiers is presented with the consideration of radiation effect. Then, the radiation effect on the TMI-limited power is discussed.
