Continuous Switching Dynamics of Breathing Dissipative Solitons in Mode-Locked Fiber Lasers
Lasers that offer continuously controllable output states hold significant theoretical importance for the study of soliton dynamics and practical implications for real-world applications, yet there has been scarce related research to date. This paper proposes and investigates a fiber laser with output states capable of continuous switching between stationary dissipative solitons (DSs) and breathing dissipative solitons (BDSs), or BDSs with different breathing frequencies, through pump intensity modulation. The gain-managed solitons controlled by an electronic system excites transition dynamics. These results provide new perspectives for direct manipulation and on-demand tailoring of BDSs.
