A Service Awareness Network Topology Planning Strategy Based on “Ring to Tree” in Metro Optical Network
With the release of Apple Vision Pro, the resolution of Extended Reality (XR) terminal has been increased to 8K, and the ultra-high resolution Cloud XR service has brought great challenges to the bandwidth capacity of metro optical network. At present, the access layer of metro optical network mostly adopts ring topology, which carries less traffic and has poor scalability. This paper proposes a service awareness network topology planning strategy based on “ring to tree” in metro optical network. Compared with ring topology, the proposed network planning strategy of “physical ring logical tree” has lower cost per unit bandwidth, and the average price per unit bandwidth is reduced by 37.1%. The proposed network planning strategy of tree topology has stronger service carrying capacity and better scalability, and the service scalability is increased by 122%.
