Low Complexity Multilevel Coding with Multiplication-Free Probabilistic Shaping for Rate-Adaptive Optical Communications
A low-complexity MLC with bit-class multiplication-free PCS PAM4 system has been proposed, which reduces FEC complexity by 59.7% compared to the classic BICM-CCDM scheme, achieving negligible SNR penalty at high IRs case.
