Analysis of Self-noise Characteristics of Fully-Actuated Autonomous Underwater Vehicle
The self-noise of AUV has an impact on its own navigation, communication systems, and the operational performance of the mission payload. In order to improve the working performance of AUV, it is necessary to study its self-noise characteristics. In this paper, the self-noise measurement test of AUV equipped with hydrophone was carried out in the sea area near Sanya City with ‘Stingray II’ fully-actuated AUV as the target, and the time-frequency characteristics of the self-noise were analyzed using the short-time Fourier transform, and the self-noise source level was calculated using the periodogram method. The experimental results show that the AUV self-noise characteristics are complex, the broadband sound pressure source level of the AUV is 149 dB (10 Hz-16 kHz) in the hovering state; and 153 dB (10 Hz-16k Hz) in the cruise state, which provides a certain reference for the subsequent acoustic processing.
