Pulse Compression Using Chirped Delay Line
This article proposes a method of compressing highfrequency electromagnetic pulses using chirped delay lines. By applying a novel pre-distortion to the input signal and inputting it into a reflective chirped delay line for matched filtering, the peak amplitude can achieve a gain of over 6 dB. And the pulse duration can be compressed to 1/10 of the original pulse width. Compared to using waveguide type dispersion delay lines, this scheme can effectively reduce the system volume.
