Performance Testing and Verification of 5G-Supported V2X Applications

With the continuous and rapid development of intelligent connected vehicles and smart transportation systems, V2X applications are considered by the industry to be the next key direction for evolution. Recently, the use of 5G networks to implement some V2X applications has been increasingly discussed. To verify the ability of 5G networks to support V2X applications, we have built a 5G network performance road testing system aimed at real V2X applications, and conducted multiple tests on the actual 5G network, including end-to-end transmission latency and packet loss rate under different network coverage, different packet lengths, and different sending intervals. The research results show that the performance indicators of the 5G network can meet the needs of some V2I applications, which is of great reference significance for carrying out research and deployment of V2X applications based on 5G.
