Bandwidth and Radiation Performance Improvement Technique for Electrically Small Antennas Based on a Negative-Resistance Parametric Amplifier

This paper presents an innovative bandwidth and radiation performance improvement technique tailored for electrically small antennas. To enhance bandwidth, the Bode-Fano theorem is employed in conjunction with a magnetic electrically small antenna, which serves as a high-Q resonator. The theorem provides insights into the maximum received signal level for a specified bandwidth. Additionally, a negative-resistance parametric amplifier is seamlessly integrated into the structure as an active component, effectively compensating for the mismatch loss introduced by the Bode-Fano theorem while maintaining optimal radiation performance.
