Dual Circularly Polarized Shared-Aperture Phased Array Antenna for K/Ka-Band Satellites
This paper presents a dual-frequency shared-aperture phased array antenna designed for K/Ka-band satellite applications. The low-band (LB) antenna is superimposed on the high-band (HB) antenna, with a slot structure allowing the high-frequency signals to pass through the upper patch. The circular polarization is achieved by employing the dual-feed methods. The two array antennas can achieve scanning ranges of ±45° and ±50°, respectively, with an axial ratio below 3dB. The proposed phased array system can be a candidate for K/Ka-band satellite applications.
