Active Corner Reflector Based on Electrically Tunable Metasurface
Traditional corner reflectors are composed of three mutually perpendicular metal plates and represent a type of passive scatterer with fixed scattering characteristics. Herein, the authors proposed a novel electrically controlled angular reflector based on an amplitude-adjustable metasurface. Simulation results demonstrate that the active metasurface, by adjusting its electromagnetic response state through PIN diodes, achieves a dynamic adjustment of 30 dB in return loss magnitude at a frequency of 9.2 GHz. Furthermore, by integrating an amplitudeadjustable metasurface onto one surface of a traditional corner reflector, the switching between absorption and reflection states can be flexibly controlled through the powering on and off. This work significantly expands the application scenarios and scope of corner reflectors.
