Optimization Dispatch Method for Offshore Wind Farm Clusters Considering Wake Effect
The wake effect between adjacent offshore wind farms introduces a power-shifting capability that can be harnessed to enhance the ability to participate in grid peak-shaving dispatch. This paper establishes an adjacent-farm power time-shift model that accounts for the wake effect among offshore wind farms and reduces the deviation between wind farm output and grid dispatch plans by joint energy storage charging and discharging. An optimization dispatch model integrated with energy storage systems is proposed based on the characteristic of adjacent-farm power time-shift. The objective is to minimize the total costs, including wind curtailment penalties, output deviation costs, and energy storage operation costs, while adhering to constraints on wind power output, energy storage operation, and power shift capabilities. The proposed method is validated through simulations using an actual offshore wind farm cluster with an integrated energy storage system. The results demonstrate that this method effectively leverages the power-shifting potential between adjacent offshore wind farms, reduces energy storage power operation and wind curtailment costs, and enables the offshore wind farm cluster to effectively track grid peak-shaving dispatch plans.
