Study on the Impact of SVG Active Harmonic Elimination on Inverter Side of LCC
The SVG is a commonly used reactive power compensation device in LCC converter stations to enhance the system's ability to withstand commutation failures. Although the SVG has advantages such as fast response and minimal impact from bus voltage drops, the harmonics generated by the SVG itself can affect the effectiveness of the converter transformer's filtering of the 5th and 7th harmonics. This paper analyzes the principle that the converter transformer's filtering of the 5th and 7th harmonics, and then take the impact of SVG on grid-side harmonics when performing functions such as reactive power compensation or characteristic subharmonic filtering into account, and finally, builds a simulation model in SIMULINK to verify the accuracy of the analysis.
