Multipath Interference Mitigation for PAM4 Transmission Based on Spectrum Inversion and RRC Filtering

We have developed an efficient multipath interference (MPI) mitigation method based on spectrum inversion and root-raised cosine filtering. Simulations have verified that this scheme has advantages over the traditional high-pass filtering scheme in suppressing MPI and improving system BER performance for large linewidth lasers.

Abstract

We have developed an efficient multipath interference (MPI) mitigation method based on spectrum inversion and root-raised cosine filtering. Simulations have verified that this scheme has advantages over the traditional high-pass filtering scheme in suppressing MPI and improving system BER performance for large linewidth lasers.
