Bandwidth Enhancement of a Wideband Dual-Polarized Printed-Dipole Antenna
The performance of a broadband dual-polarized printed-dipole antenna has been significantly improved. Incorporating a parasitic element above the antenna has broadened its bandwidth to 63%, achieving a return loss exceeding 15 dB. Additionally, the bandwidth can be further expanded to 74% by incorporating an additional parasitic element. This extra element is able to be printed alongside the dipole and the integrated balun on one single substrate, while maintaining the antenna's simple design and facilitating easy manufacturing. The dual-polarized printed-dipole antennas, both with enhanced and further-enhanced bandwidths, demonstrate consistent radiation patterns and high isolation throughout their operational frequency ranges.
