A Stable Time-Domain Electric Field Integral Equation Discretized with a Truncated Multistep Method
The convolution quadrature (CQ) method represents as a prevalent time-domain integral equation (TDIE) equation for perfect electric conductor (PEC) scattering problems due to its notable stability. However, the global sequence derived from the CQ method entails significant memory consumption. In this paper, we embrace a truncated version of the CQ method, which selectively truncates based on the varying threshold values of vector and scalar potential components. This approach minimizes the memory usage and reduces the calculation for impedance matrices greatly. Furthermore, a numerical example validates the accuracy of our proposed method. It is also demonstrated the feasibility of the truncation technique, with a balance between its efficiency and accuracy achieved.
