A Precision Wideband Quadrature Signal Generation Using 130nm SiGe BiCMOS Process
A quadrature generation circuit designed to convert local oscillator signals into quadrature signals is described. An RC polyphase filter construction produces precise I/Q quadrature signals over a very wide frequency range. The phase correction circuit features a tuning range of 3 degrees, and limiting amplifiers are employed to calibrate the amplitude imbalance of the I/Q signals. Implemented in the 130nm SiGe BiCMOS process, the phase generation circuit operates within a frequency range of 400 MHz to 8 GHz, achieving a quadrature phase inaccuracy of under 0.4 degrees and an I/Q amplitude imbalance of less than 0.1 dB.
