Meta-Fluid Antenna for Multiplexing Multiple Users in Rich Scattering Environments

With the rapid development of wireless communication technologies, supporting a massive number of user devices has become a significant challenge. Traditional multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology requires sophisticated signal processing techniques to support a large number of terminal devices in a rich scattering environment. To address this problem, this paper proposes a full-wave simulation model of a meta-fluid antenna that enables multiple devices to access the channel simultaneously, with Rayleigh fading mimicked by artificial rich-scattering generators. This multiple access scheme is referred to as fluid antenna multiple access (FAMA). The FAMA technology enhances system multiplexing efficiency and network performance by allowing user devices to dynamically select optimal receiving positions, thereby maximizing the signal-to-interference ratio (SIR). The proposed method aims to simplify signal processing complexities for terminal devices and eliminate the need for channel state information (CSI) from base stations, thus achieving a larger number of connections and higher data rates by leveraging scattering with low system complexity.
