Decoupled Dual-polarized Base Station Antennas Using Characteristic Mode Analysis
In this paper, the decoupling of 1*2 dual-polarized base station antennas is realized. Decoupling is achieved by feeding one of the antenna units to excite a pair of modes so that their currents cancel each other out on the other antenna unit. Bending the metal arm of the antenna and adding parasitic elements could adjust the electromagnetic coupling between the antennas. The odd and even modes are excited at the same frequency, and finally the decoupling effect is achieved. The simulation results show that the impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 10% (3.32-3.69GHz), the isolation is greater than 26dB, and the two polarization directions have good decoupling effect.
