A Bandgap Reference with 3.2 ppm/°C TC, 587.2pV Noise and 48dB PSRR at 1MHz

This article presents a bandgap reference circuit with high precision, low noise, and high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) for the low DC supply noise. Employing a segmented curvature compensation technique, the positive and negative temperature coefficient can be adjusted, effectively minimizing the temperature drift of the reference voltage. A temperature-robust pseudo-resistor capacitor filter is utilized to eliminate mid-frequency power supply ripple and noise. Furthermore, a fast start-up circuit (FSC) substantially reduces the start-up time. Simulation results within the -40°C to 135°C temperature range can keep a stable 1.11V and reveal a best-case bandgap temperature coefficient of 3.2ppm/°C across all process corners and three supply voltages. The circuit's start-up time is approximately 6uS with a worst-case output noise of 587. 2p V at 1MHz and PSRR maintains over 48dB at 1MHz, demonstrating effective noise and ripple suppression capability.
