Competition design to create high-performance teams

The object of the research is the design of a series of competitions to form a high-performance team of members with a high level of productivity in interaction. Let’s mean that a highly effective team is a team of players who have high productivity of interaction in a pair. Investigated problem: The purpose of the presented research is to formalize competition planning when forming a team based on the competition factor. The graph-theoretic formalization of the team formation problem on a complete undirected weighted graph has been developed by the authors in previous works. The edge weight is calculated by dividing the number of victories of the team, which includes a pair of participants, by the total number of teams, which includes this pair of participants. In these terms, the set of admissible solutions, the Pareto set, and the full set of alternatives of the two-criteria problem are studied. The criteria of the vector objective function formalize the achievement of maximum team efficiency. The main scientific results: The article develops a method for constructing a competition design, which takes into account the factor of the possibility of practical implementation of the required number of competitions to enumerate the set of admissible solutions, methods for reducing the enumeration of the set of admissible solutions without loss of statistical significance. When choosing a design for a series of competitions, it is proposed to exclude restrictions on the number of formed teams and from calculating the number of meetings of a pair in a team, the probability of meeting a pair in a team. The methodology consists of three steps, which are illustrated by numerical examples. The area of practical use of the research results: team building techniques in sports, IT project management, and enterprise management in competitive conditions. Innovative technological product: the method for constructing a competition design. Scope of the innovative technological product: building high-performance teams
