Listy Władysława Stanisława Reymonta do Zdzisława Dębickiego. Edycja (od)nowa
During World War II, the collection of correspondence between Władysław Stanisław Reymont and Zdzisław Dębicki, deposited in the National Library, was destroyed by fire. Their extensive mutual correspondence is known only from copies made by attorney Witold Kotowski, just before the Warsaw Uprising. The recently released Kotowski archive proves that previous editions of the letters between Reymont and Dębicki were incomplete, often incorrectly dated, misattributed, and the historical context was sometimes misinterpreted. This article attempts to organize the currently available knowledge about their correspondence. The main part is dedicated to a newly prepared edition of Reymont’s letters to Dębicki, accompanied by new commentary.
