طه عبد الرحمن، في أصول الحوار وتجديد علم الكلام
Islamic thought has witnessed the ideas and debates of numerous figures concerning the renewal of the science of kalam since the late 19th century. In general, the efforts to renew kalam were aimed at responding to a range of challenges posed by the sciences, and these efforts were predominantly put forth by scholars from the Ottoman Empire, Egypt, and India, regions that held political and cultural leadership in Islam. These discussions, which emerged as a result of certain political and social developments, continue to exert influence today. Notably, we find numerous Arab thinkers, particularly from countries like Iraq, Egypt, and Morocco, who have authored works on the renewal of kalam. Among these prominent figures is Taha Abdurrahman, often referred to as the "Moroccan philosopher," who holds special significance in Morocco. His works, recently translated and well-received in our country, have garnered a substantial readership. This study examines his work titled Fî Usûli’l-Hivâr ve Tecdîd-i ‘İlmi’l-Kelâm.
