Effects of the Pain, Physical Function on the Quality of Life in Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis

This study analyzed the impact of pain and physical function on the quality of life in knee osteoarthritis patients, aiming to understand the interrelationships among these factors.A survey was conducted with 80 patients diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis, collecting data on pain, physical function, and quality of life.Statistical analysis was performed with the SPSS 27.0 version to evaluate the correlations between the variables. The differences in pain and physical function among patients with degenerative knee osteoarthritis based on general characteristics were significant concerning age, education, and health status. At the same time, quality of life was statistically significant for education (F=3.36,p<.05) and health status (F=4.31,p<.001).Patients with degenerative knee osteoarthritis showed a strong positive correlation among pain, physical function, and quality of life. The factors affecting the quality of life of patients with degenerative knee osteoarthritis were pain (=.47) and physical function (=.35), and the model's explanatory power was 57.6%.This study highlights various factors affecting the health status of knee osteoarthritis patients and emphasizes the need for tailored rehabilitation programs aimed at effective pain management and functional improvement. The results can be a foundational resource for enhancing the overall quality of life in patients with knee osteoarthritis.
