THE SERVICEABILITY OF EXTERNAL WALL STRUCTURES WITH FAÇADE INSULATION AND PLASTER FINISHING USING DOUBLELAYER INSULATION
Ukraine is undergoing a difficult path to becomingan energy-independent state. The current conditionsdemonstrate not only the economic aspects ofimplementing energy-efficient and energy-savingtechnologies in all spheres of life but also the ability ofsuch systems to ensure existence in extreme wartimeconditions, where the supply of energy resources isneither stable nor guaranteed or predictable. In modern buildings, the thermal insulationenvelope is constructed using high-efficiency insulationmaterials and can be implemented using varioustechnologies. The use of facade insulation ensurescompliance with energy efficiency requirementsfor buildings (including ensuring low heat loss forheating). One of the most common systems in Ukraineis facade insulation systems with thin-layer plasterfinishes. The introduction of higher requirements forbuilding energy efficiency indicators and minimumrequirements for the energy efficiency indicators ofbuilding envelope structures with the introduction ofnew building standards in 2022 has led to the needto adjust the established practices of designing andinstalling these facade insulation systems. The article presents the problematic issues facedby manufacturers of facade insulation with plasterfinishing as a result of increasing the thickness of theinsulation layer. A solution is proposed for the use ofdouble-layer insulation, along with a description ofthe technology for installing double-layer insulationusing mineral wool boards. Results and analysis ofcalculations assessing the thermal and moisture stateof external wall structures with facade insulation andplaster finishing with a single and double layer ofinsulation are provided, along with their comparison. An assessment of the practical application and anexample of the real-world use of facade insulationwith thin-layer plaster finishing using double-layerinsulation are presented.
