IMPROVEMENT OF THE METHOD OF SELECTING THERMAL-INSULATING MATERIAL FOR BUILDING INSULATION
Modern building envelopes of residential and publicbuildings are thermally heterogeneous. Thus, thechoice of design parameters of thermal insulationlayers requires the use of correct calculation formulasand the introduction of coefficients that clearly definethe complex conditions of heat transfer. A specialfeature of the national methodology for standardizingenergy performance indicators, one of which is thelevel of thermal insulation of building envelopes, is thestandardization not of the thermal resistance along themain field of the structure, but of the indicator thatdetermines the actual heat loss through the envelopeof the reduced thermal resistance. The subject of thisstudy is the analysis of provisions for improving themethod of selecting thermal insulation material forinsulating buildings. These provisions form the basis ofthe new generation of the standard DSTU 9191:2022.The aim is to identify key changes compared to theprevious national standard DSTU B.2.6-189:2013.Based on calculations, the goal is to determine therequired thermal resistance using the example oftranslucent building envelopes under variousoperating conditions. The novelty and significancelie in familiarization with the results of practicalcalculations, These calculations which allow to makemore conscious and cost-effective design decisionswhen determining the level of energy performance ofbuildings. The new generation regulatory documentgenerally meets modern rules for providing thenecessary information, uses the same designations andterminology as international ones, which puts it at thesame level with European standards. The provisionsof this standard ensure that at the design stage it willbe possible to determine a thermally justified thicknessof the insulating material layer in the compositionof thermally heterogeneous external walls. That willhelp to make economically justified decisions whendesigning translucent building envelopes.
