Reliability Performance of RIS-CR-NOMA Based Short-Packet Communications
Considering the potential of integrating reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) with cognitive radio (CR) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems in the Internet of Things (IoT), this paper investigates the reliability performance of a downlink RIS-assisted CR-NOMA network with short packet communications. To characterize the performance, the closed-form expressions of average block error rate (BLER) at primary and secondary users are derived. The theoretical analysis is verified through simulation results. The achieved results demonstrate that the proposed RIS aided overlay CR-NOMA network is advantageous in short packet communication, which has great potential for IoT applications.
