Research on EM Scattering from Composite Rough Surface with Vegetated Sub-Regions and Overhead Targets Based on the SBR-VRT Method

This paper presents a method for calculating EM scattering from composite rough surfaces with vegetated sub-regions and overhead targets. Based on the Monte Carlo method, the Gaussian spectral function is used to simulate a variety of feature backgrounds, and then the weighted arctangent function is applied to smooth the rough surface splices, on the basis of which, the geometric model for calculating electromagnetic scattering is further constructed. Since it is difficult to simulate the rough surface covered by vegetation directly, this paper applies the SBR-VRT method to calculate it. We simulate the composite electromagnetic scattering of a tank target on a concrete road covered by vegetation on both sides, and then analyze the effects of different incident angles and incident frequencies on its scattering characteristics. This study provides important theoretical support for radar detection and target identification.
