A Wideband Antipodal Double-Slit Vivaldi Feed Antenna for Millimeter-Wave Imaging
An antipodal double-slit Vivaldi antenna (ADSVA) that is wider than a conventional Vivaldi antenna and can be used for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) imaging technology is proposed. In addition, slot edges are cut to change the distribution of surface current, improving the directivity of the antenna. In order to further increase the beam width of the ADSVA, a dielectric sheet lens is designed as a means of energy focusing and gain enhancement. Moreover, by introducing an elliptical patch, the gain is further improved and the sidelobe of the antenna is effectively reduced. The bandwidth of the proposed ADSVA is 10–45 GHz and the peak gain reaches 21 dBi at 35 GHz.
