A Broadband Low-Profile Microstrip Antenna Based on Gradually Fed Probe
In this paper, a broadband low-profile microstrip antenna based on gradually fed probe (GFP) is presented. The GFP is composed of a circular and a gradient microstrip line. The coupling feeding of GFP significantly expands the bandwidth of the antenna. Simulation results show that the proposed antenna exhibits a relative bandwidth of 56% with VSWR≤2.0. Besides, the profile of the antenna is 3.686mm, which is about 0.12λ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</inf> (λ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</inf> is the free-space wavelength of the middle operation frequency). The antenna was fabricated and tested, and the test results were in good agreement with the simulation results.
