A Novel Dual switch-ML inverter with Reduced Components

This particular paper focuses on a novel Dual Switch-Multilevel Inverter (D-MLI) designed for solar PV grid-tied systems, aimed at reducing system complexity by using fewer switches. The operational details along with conduction state of devices are addressed to understand the mode of operation. The paper presents a detailed control block diagram for generating the necessary gating signals using hysteresis current controller. Additionally, it includes the modes of power transmission and demonstrates mathematically that it can deliver the required real power. This paper concludes with validation of the modified hysteresis current control scheme through simulation results, developed and executed using PSCAD/EMTDC software. And also, in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed system, an experimental study was conducted and measured results were presented in this paper.
