Intelligent Software Predictive of Youth Anxiety and Depression based on Mathematical Modeling

This research work addresses the problems related to anxiety, depression and the high juvenile suicide risk in the province of Tungurahua. To solve this problem, we propose: automatic processes of evaluation of the level of anxiety and juvenile depression, as an innovative method of evaluation has been developed software that through facial recognition of emotions and with the support of a mathematical model can predict the level of affectation in terms of youth mental health. The proposed method is innovative, non-invasive and could be complemented with the web automation of a validated questionnaire for this purpose. In the experimental field we have worked with a private school in the city of Ambato. About 30 adolescents between 13 and 18 years of age have participated, the results show that 57% have no signs of affectation, 22% of mild affectation, 14% of medium affectation and 7% of high affectation. These results were contrasted with an electronic evaluation based on Hamilton's questionnaire, but it could be seen that there is an error of approximately 20% between the results. This leads to the conclusion that: the process of facial recognition of emotions should be improved as well as the optimization of the mathematical model proposed.
