Wide-Angle Scanning Millimeter-Wave Phased Array Based on Cascaded Triangular Cavity

In this paper, a wide-angle scanning phased array based on cascaded triangular cavity operating in the millimeter-wave band is proposed. By using the cascaded triangular cavity, the antenna element realizes a wide-beam radiation pattern, whose 3-dB beamwidth reaches 179∘ in E-plane at 26GHz. Abstract

The phased array based on it is designed in an inter-element spacing of 0.39λ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">0</inf>. It achieves −10 dB impedance bandwidth from 23.7GHz to 29.1GHz (20.45%), a scan angle of up to ±62∘ and a peak gain of 11.5dBi.
