Development of Low Frequency Hybrid Harvester for Vehicle Vibration Energy Harvesting

The demand for energy supply devices to support wireless sensor applications in vehicle is steadily increasing. Although batteries are commonly considered, their requirement for replacement upon depletion makes them less suitable. Consequently, there is a need for a novel energy supply device that can provide semi-permanent power for these applications. In this paper, we propose a hybrid energy harvester designed to efficiently harvest vibration energy generated within vehicles. The harvester, which combines electromagnetic induction and triboelectric methods, produces 2.95 mW of RMS power. Furthermore, the harvester is integrated with a sensor and installed in a vehicle to power the sensor.
