Investigating Researcher Mobility Through Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

With the rapid pace of globalization, economic and social development is accelerating, and more governments are prioritizing the development of a strong scientific and technological infrastructure as a strategic asset. This study uses ORCID user data to comprehensively analyze the mobility patterns of scientific researchers. Through a process of data cleansing, statistical, visual, and spatial analyses, the study reveals the trajectories, temporal aspects, geographical distribution, and institutional affiliations of these researchers, identifying underlying patterns and trends. Based on these insights, the study proposes targeted recommendations for both national and organizational levels to enhance the recruitment, retention, and development of scientific research talent.
