Boost The Efficiency Of Step-Down Convertors With Switching Order Optimization in Power Management For High-Voltage Energy Harvesters
To boost the efficiency of step-down convertors in power management for high-voltage energy harvesters, we present a novel technique featuring switching order optimization for switched-capacitor (SC) convertors. For the first time, the parasitic effect on the efficiency of a high step-down ratio SC convertor is analyzed with an equivalent circuit model. Accordingly, a novel efficiency-boosting method focusing on series switching order optimization is proposed. Furtherly, this method has been successfully implemented on a printed circuit board (PCB) using a Raspberry Pi, demonstrating the advantages of the proposed anti-sequential switching order. This technique extends the applicability of high-voltage energy harvesters, offering potential improvements in various applications.
