A Novel Characteristic Mode Analysis in Cavity Interference Mode Suppression

A novel characteristic mode analysis on the perfect electric conductor cavity has been applied to suppress interference modes. The internal resonant characteristic modes are solved to indicate the operating modes and the interference modes. As the numerical example, a progressive open-ended coaxial cylindrical cavity with small gaps is analyzed to demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Abstract

A novel characteristic mode analysis on the perfect electric conductor cavity has been applied to suppress interference modes. The internal resonant characteristic modes are solved to indicate the operating modes and the interference modes. As the numerical example, a progressive open-ended coaxial cylindrical cavity with small gaps is analyzed to demonstrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
