Performance Enhancement Of Droplet-Based Electricity Generators Using Rotary Mechanisms

This paper investigates performance enhancement of droplet-based electricity generators (DEGs) using rotary mechanisms. A novel rotary droplet-based electricity generator (R-DEG) is developed, utilizing centrifugal force to optimize droplet dynamics on a dielectric surface. Experiments show that at 300 RPM and a flow rate of 30 $\mathrm{mL} / \mathrm{min}$, the R-DEG achieves a peak RMS output voltage of 13.93 V and an RMS output current of $4.87 \mu \mathrm{~A}$, with a doubled pulse frequency compared to a vertical DEG. The R-DEG also demonstrates superior capacitor charging capability and successfully powers 34 LED lamps, highlighting its potential for efficient energy harvesting in IoT applications.
