Investigating The Effect of Surface Topology Modifications on the Output Performance of Tengs Using a Standardized Set-Up
This study investigates how surface topology affects the energy output of triboelectric nanogenerators (TENGs) in a controlled experimental setup. Pyramid-structured PDMS films were fabricated as one active layer of a triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG), with gold used as the counter material and electrode. To ensure accurate and repeatable measurements, the samples were secured with a vacuum holder, and force sensors monitored the contact force during the experiments conducted in contact-separation mode. By examining the impact of varying surface features and applied force, the research aims to optimize the factors influencing energy harvesting efficiency in TENGs for practical applications.
