Türkiye’de Turizm Alanında Blokchain İle İlgili Yapılan Çalışmaların Bibliyometrik Analizi
Technological developments in recent years have led to a rapid evolution in the tourism sector. With the development of technology, the tourism sector has become increasingly interactive and has begun to use blockchain technology, which allows tourists to easily search and create their own travels without the need for a traditional travel agency. Blockchain is a powerful technology that offers advantages by eliminating intermediaries in the tourism sector. The use of blockchain technologies in tourism benefits tourists and various service providers in the sector by reducing the overall cost structure. Therefore, the tourism sector has combined technology, information and money to create innovative products that will meet the needs of tourists and eliminated intermediaries. At the same time, these developments in the tourism sector have led to increased competition and blockchain technology has begun to be used as an important tool for businesses to have a competitive advantage. In this study, a bibliometric analysis of studies on blockchain in the tourism sector in Turkey is presented. Within the scope of the study, a search was conducted with the keywords “tourism”, “blockchain”, “cryptocurrency”, “blockchain”, “blockchain in tourism” and 16 studies that were considered suitable for the purpose of the research were found. These studies were examined within the parameters of publication year, number of authors, keywords, published journal, purpose of the research and findings. As a result of the research, it was revealed that the subject was not given sufficient attention by researchers in Turkey, and that in order to conduct more research, the current situation should be determined and guiding knowledge for future research should be presented.
