Beyond numbers: A call for data on gerontological and public health practices in Central America
This brief communication presents a perspective on the dearth of data on older populations and public health indicators in Central American countries. It offers a few brief points for reflection on the importance of generating and disseminating data of secondary origin and of national and regional scope to meet the needs of older people and improve existing geriatric-gerontological programs and services in the region more effectively.
