The Effect of Personality Types of Culinary School Students on Class Engagement and Education Satisfaction
As cooking is easily encountered in everyday life, the number of students at cooking academies with various purposes has increased. As a result, competition among culinary institutes has intensified, and there are more cases in which students' educational satisfaction decreases due to focusing only on management rather than on the quality of educational programs or interest in students. Therefore, this study analyzed the effect of personality types of culinary academy students on class commitment and educational satisfaction. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, a survey was conducted on 222 students of cooking academies in Busan and Gyeongnam for a month in August 2023. The results of the survey were verified through structural equation models for demographic frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and hypothesis testing using SPSS and AMOS programs. As a result of the analysis, the influence relationship on the personality type (externality, sincerity) and class commitment of culinary academy students was confirmed. Class commitment was significantly analyzed for educational satisfaction. We suggest that individual customized teaching methods or counseling techniques are needed by identifying individual personality types (especially extroversion and sincerity) to increase the immersion of culinary academy students in class.
