Dissemination of Organic Waste Crushing Machine Technology to Accelerate The Competitiveness of Zero Waste-Based Farming Businesses
Straw is a waste from the rice harvest left over from farming activities that can be used as animal feed and organic fertilizer. Rice straw as an animal feed can be supplemented with probiotics to increase feed nutrition. Rice straw has a high potassium content which is beneficial for the fertility of agricultural land soil. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase the knowledge of the Sri Warga farmer group regarding the benefits of rice straw and the application of organic waste shredding machine technology. The physical process of shredding rice straw can improve the quality of animal feed and can accelerate the composting process of organic fertilizer. The results of the community service activity show the enthusiasm of the farmer group members in the application of organic waste shredding machine technology and the use of rice straw. There is an increase in the understanding of the knowledge of the farmer group members regarding the benefits of rice straw as an animal feed and as an organic fertilizer to improve soil quality.
