Rapid improvement of plaque psoriasis with short-term deucravacitinib therapy: A case report
Deucravacitinib is an oral selective tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2) inhibitor that has demonstrated significant efficacy and safety in treating moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. This report presents a case of a patient with plaque psoriasis who showed rapid and marked improvement with short-term deucravacitinib therapy. The 42 year-old male with psoriasis initially achieved disease control with methotrexate but experienced a severe relapse after 8 months of treatment, with a PASI score of 12.2 and BSA involvement of 10%.Transitioning to deucravacitinib at a dose of 6 mg/day resulted in substantial improvement, with the PASI score decreasing to 0.2 and BSA to <1% within eight weeks. No adverse events were reported, and laboratory parameters remained stable throughout treatment. This case highlights the potential of deucravacitinib as an effective and safe oral treatment option for patients with plaque psoriasis refractory to conventional therapies.
