Two cases of erythematous to hypopigmented patches and plaques with fine scales
Fine scaling on hypopigmented macules and erythematous lesions in adolescents often complicates clinical diagnosis, necessitating differentiation between several dermatologic conditions such as pityriasis alba, guttate psoriasis, tinea versicolor, and postinflammatory hypopigmentation. This study briefly presents educational cases of pityriasis alba and guttate psoriasis, both of which manifest as patches or plaques with fine scaling which is relative common in children and adolescents. The aim is to summarize the clinical features of these two representative conditions with fine scaling and to provide an overview of their clinical differentiation.
