Integration of the Cynefin Framework and carver methodologies in risk-based decision making
The integration of the Cynefin Framework and CARVER methodologies for decision-making under risk was explored. The Cynefin Framework was developed for classifying and understanding different types of situations, and CARVER is a methodology for evaluating threats and opportunities used for detailed risk analysis.ntegration of the Cynefin Framework and CARVER will enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the decision-making process under risk by providing a deeper understanding of the situations context and a detailed analysis of threats and opportunities. As a result of the study, it was established that the Cynefin Framework effectively identifies the level of complexity of a situation, determines the context of the problem, and applies appropriate management strategies, while CARVER provides a structured approach to risk assessment and helps prioritize actions and resources, thereby enhancing the organization's responsiveness and flexibility in risky conditions.CARVER allows for a deep analysis of critical aspects of each situation, such as criticality, resource availability, recovery capability, vulnerability, impact, and recognizability. This contributes to more informed decision-making.The integration of these methodologies allows for a comprehensive view of the situation, ensuring a more accurate and effective risk analysis. The study systematized situations for each domain of the Cynefin Framework and assessed their characteristics using the CARVER methodology. It also categorized risk assessments in the context of the components of CARVER and the domains of the Cynefin Framework. This demonstrates the practical application of the integration of the two methodologies and their effectiveness in various types of situations. The conclusions confirm that the combination of the Cynefin Framework and CARVER creates a powerful tool for decision-making under risk. This integration enables managers to better understand the context and complexity of situations, more effectively evaluate threats and opportunities, ultimately improving the quality of management decisions.
