The support part is responsible for the operation of the information system of the institution as a whole, the administrative and economic complex and carries out general administration and current technical maintenance of the information system of the healthcare institution. The paper proposes an organizational structure of the IT department of a healthcare institution, the functional content of which depends on a specific medical information system from the list of recommended by the Ministry of Health. The possibilities of assessing the efficiency of the department and effective indicators are determined. The directions of further research into the process of digitalization of the activities of healthcare institutions are outlined.
